Abstract

|
Objective: This study attempted to stress the necessity of design in preparation for the upcoming aging era through the new interpretation for universal design in the aging society.
Method: Universal design is a thought to design to develop the products or spaces easily accessible to everyone regardless of gender and the presence of disabilities. Universal design has supportive design, adaptable design, accessible design, safety-oriental design standards. Elderly has been weakened by physical, mental and psychological and social function by considering these points, we need to configure the product and the environment. In addition, there is a need to consider the mental and physical dysfunction due to aging, and universal design guidelines appropriate to each individual. We will be actively used for combining IT technology products, by introducing the concept of universal design and design by taking into account the economic, psychological, and social conditions, as well as physical discomfort in the elderly.
